Boston Dynamics has unveiled Atlas, a robot for industrial use.
Boston Dynamics unveiled the latest, highly versatile humanoid robot, Atlas, at CES 2026. Prior to this, Atlas had already showcased several capabilities (including dancing).

The latest version of Atlas incorporates advanced industrial capabilities, such as picking up and arranging objects. The robot learns tasks quickly, adapts well to its environment, can lift loads up to 50 kilograms, and operates autonomously with minimal human intervention. It can even independently seek charging stations when its battery is low.

Atlas operates in three modes: autonomous, remotely controlled, and closely controlled via a tablet. It is also highly durable and can function in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 40°C.

The first customer to deploy Atlas in real-world applications is Hyundai, a major shareholder of Boston Dynamics, which will use it in its car production lines. The company also announced a collaboration with Google DeepMind to provide Atlas for research and development of more intelligent AI models for robots.
