Sad news to end the year: Vince Zampella, creator of Call of Duty and co-founder of Infinity Ward, has reportedly died in a car accident on a highway in the San Gabriel Mountains north of Los Angeles. He was 55 years old.

Reports indicate that Vince was driving a Ferrari 296 GTS with one passenger when the car veered off the road, crashed into a concrete barrier, and burst into flames. Vince died at the scene, and the passenger died at the hospital.

After leaving Infinity Ward, he founded Respawn Entertainment, which was later acquired by EA.
