STRANGER MINECRAFT: Official DLC Brings Eleven and Vecna to the Sandbox
Microsoft and Netflix have once again joined forces to expand their gaming collaboration, integrating the beloved Stranger Things series into another popular title. Following the recently announced Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, which promises to take players into the Upside Down, it's now Minecraft turn. The iconic sandbox game now offers players the chance to relive pivotal moments from the hit TV series through specially crafted levels.

This new DLC features stages built around key moments from every season of Stranger Things. Minecraft players can choose to embody their favorite characters, including Eleven, who wields her telekinetic powers, and other fan favorites such as Dr. Brenner, capable of accessing restricted lab control panels, Suzie, who can decrypt secret codes, and Eddie, able to run his classic D&D campaigns. For those who prefer the darker side, Vecna is also available as a playable character, complete with his mind-controlling abilities.

Blockception, the developer behind the DLC, confirmed that each character will offer unique abilities to help players navigate the various levels. While the DLC emphasizes cooperative gameplay, single players can also utilize a character-swapping feature to leverage different skill sets as needed.

The official announcement blog post stated: "From discovering Eleven in Mirkwood Forest and battling Demogorgons in the Upside Down, to joining the Scoop Troop on their investigation at Starcourt Mall and confronting Vecna as the grandfather clock chimes – this is your chance to relive the most memorable moments in Hawkins and beyond. As you clear each stage, the town evolves, unlocking new adventures for you and your party to embark on. Follow clues, solve puzzles, and fight enemies alongside your quirky band of friends, but who will you play as?"

The official Stranger Things DLC for Minecraft Bedrock Edition is now available on the Minecraft Marketplace within the game, priced at 1510 Minecoins, which equates to approximately $9 USD.

However, there's some disappointing news for Minecraft players on Nintendo Switch. Mojang has stated that the Stranger Things DLC will not be available on this platform, citing an inability to deliver a "great DLC experience" on the device, likely indicating performance issues. Meanwhile, mobile device users will need a minimum of 6GB of RAM to run the DLC.
