Rainbow Six Siege was hacked. Ubisoft has shut down the servers to fix the problem.
Ubisoft has announced that the Rainbow Six Siege game servers experienced a major data breach, affecting the servers, player systems, and the item marketplace. Initially, many players were reported to have received large amounts of in-game R6 Credits, while some players received account ban warnings.

As of now, Ubisoft reports that they are gradually removing related transactions, and accounts that made these purchases will not be banned. They also confirm that the account ban warnings were not sent by Ubisoft and therefore have no effect. The game servers and marketplace are currently temporarily down until the issue is resolved.
