Team Cherry, the Australian indie studio behind Hollow Knight, has announced the first DLC for Hollow Knight: Silksong, titled Sea of Sorrow. This will be a free update for all players, with a broad release date in 2026.
The story of Sea of Sorrow will involve an adventure in a new sea-based land (as the title suggests), but no further details have been revealed beyond the trailer.
Additionally, the first Hollow Knight game will also receive a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, including all content, released in 2026. Those who purchased the Switch 1 version will receive a free upgrade.
All platforms of the first game will receive engine updates mirroring Silksong, including features such as high frame rate mode, increased graphic resolution, and support for 16:10 and 21:9 aspect ratios.
Team Cherry also revealed that Silksong has sold over 7 million copies, not including the millions more played through Xbox Game Pass.
