Cinemersive Labs recently gained industry attention with Parallax, a sophisticated VR application. The app leverages a powerful combination of photogrammetry and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to reconstruct 3D images from standard photographs taken from various angles. This technology allows for a depth of field and spatial immersion that was previously difficult to achieve without expensive 3D scanning equipment.
Strategic Integration
By bringing Cinemersive Labs into the fold, Sony aims to streamline the creation of immersive 3D environments. This move is expected to enhance the development pipeline for PlayStation VR2 (PS VR2) and future hardware, making it easier for developers to transform real-world assets into lifelike digital experiences.
Cinemersive's technology will drastically reduce the cost and time involved in 3D asset creation. Instead of developers having to sculpt every model from scratch, they can use real-world photographs and have Cinemersive's AI "conjure" them into usable 3D objects for games immediately (real-world to engine pipeline).
