The Wait for S26 is Almost Over Samsung Set to Unveil The Next Galaxy AI in San Francisco.
The wait is almost over. Samsung has officially sent out invitations for its first Galaxy Unpacked event of 2026, scheduled for February 25 in San Francisco. Interestingly, this year’s launch arrives slightly later than the Galaxy S25, which debuted on January 22 of last year.
The Teaser: A Hint at Privacy
The official teaser video features a mysterious cube with the Galaxy AI logo nested inside. However, the most intriguing detail lies in the visual effect: as the cube tilts, the logo becomes partially obscured or changes appearance depending on the viewing angle. This subtle clue strongly suggests the inclusion of a much-rumored Privacy Display or "Anti-Peeping" technology as a standout feature for the Galaxy S26 series.
The "Privacy Display" feature is expected to utilize micro-louver technology, which adjusts the top layer of pixels to direct light only towards the user. Those viewing from the sides will see a dark or blurry screen. Samsung will likely integrate this feature with Galaxy AI for intruder detection and automatic privacy mode activation.
Rumors suggest the S26 will feature the thinnest and most symmetrical bezel design among all smartphones, and the under-display camera sensor may be fully integrated into the Ultra model.
The core driver of 2026 will be a new chipset focused on Neural Processing Unit (NPU) processing power to support more complex on-device AI tasks, such as real-time translation in third-party video call apps.
Samsung is also expected to announce increased use of recycled materials, including "glue-free packaging," as part of its sustainability goals.
