Cisco Reports Record Q4 FY2026 Earnings Driven by 28% Surge in Networking Revenue

Cisco Systems has announced its financial results for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026 (ending July 2026), posting another record-breaking quarter. Total revenue rose 18% year-over-year to reach $17.252 billion, with GAAP net income coming in at $3.859 billion.

The company experienced broad-based demand across its hardware and enterprise software product segments:

  • Networking: Revenue surged 28% year-over-year, driving the primary growth for the quarter.

  • Security: Revenue grew 14%.

  • Collaboration: Revenue increased 12%.

  • Observability: Revenue grew 6%.

  • Services: Revenue remained flat compared to the same period last year.

Cisco Chairman and CEO Chuck Robbins stated that the past fiscal year marked a new historical record for the company, attributing the performance to a strong innovative product portfolio and disciplined operational execution. Robbins highlighted that Cisco is exceptionally well-positioned to support enterprise customers as they deploy and scale artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Looking ahead, Cisco provided strong guidance for the first quarter of fiscal 2027, projecting revenue to expand further to $18.0 billion–$18.2 billion.

The reason Cisco's networking division grew by 28% is that the rapid adoption of enterprise-level AI workloads required major hardware upgrades to data center switches, high-density Ethernet routing, and low-latency optical connectivity. Cisco's silicon and switch platforms directly benefited as enterprise IT departments upgraded their legacy infrastructure to connect AI cluster servers.

Following Cisco's strategic integration with large-scale information security platforms like Splunk, the company shifted from a hardware-only vendor to an integrated cybersecurity and metrics provider, enabling IT managers to monitor network health and security threats from a single dashboard.

Historically, network hardware sales often generated volatile revenue cycles, but Cisco's shift towards multi-year subscription software, cloud management, and ongoing security contracts has generated more stable revenue, allowing the company to revise upward its revenue estimates ($18.0 billion – $18.2 billion), even amidst broader macroeconomic uncertainty.
