Rumors Quashed Jensen Huang Confirms Nvidia Commitment to OpenAI Partnership
Strategic Alliance Intact: Nvidia to Lead OpenAI’s Record-Breaking Funding Round.

Following intense speculation from major U.S. media outlets, Nvidia has officially silenced rumors of a fallout regarding its multi-billion dollar strategic alliance with OpenAI. Initial reports suggested that a planned $100 billion infrastructure investment had stalled due to internal concerns at Nvidia over market competition and business direction.

The Source of Speculation

The rumors gained traction when it was reported that the deal remained in the Letter of Intent (LOI) phase a non-binding status that led many to interpret that Nvidia was rethinking its massive commitment. Analysts speculated that Nvidia might pivot away from building large-scale infrastructure to simply participating in OpenAI's latest funding rounds instead.

Jensen Huang Sets the Record Straight

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stepped in personally to debunk the claims, stating that rumors of conflict are "completely untrue" and "unfounded interpretations." He reaffirmed that the bond between the two giants remains stronger than ever.

Huang confirmed that Nvidia will definitely participate in OpenAI’s upcoming funding round, which is expected to be one of the largest private capital raises in tech history. He expressed his unwavering confidence in OpenAI’s ability to drive AI innovation and long-term market growth.

A Unified Front

Echoing this sentiment, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman praised the collaboration, noting that Nvidia’s hardware remains the "beating heart" of modern AI development. This unified stance from both leaders confirms that the alliance is not only intact but poised to dominate the next phase of the AI arms race.

  • In 2026, OpenAI will still require a massive number of Nvidia GB200 (Blackwell) and subsequent generation chips to run the new GPT model. Therefore, a deal with Nvidia is practically impossible to fall through, as OpenAI currently lacks equally powerful alternatives.
  • Analysts view the shift from "investing in infrastructure" to "equity" in OpenAI as a smart strategy for Nvidia. This reduces the direct risk of data center management and transforms them from a "supplier" to a "co-owner" of the world's most influential AI company.
  • The rumors may be a "warning signal" from Nvidia to prevent OpenAI from accelerating the development of its own chips (Project Tigris) too quickly. Suppressing the rumors is a way to maintain a balance of power between the two giants.
  • The new funding round mentioned by Jensen Huang is expected to value the company between $200 billion and $250 billion, making OpenAI one of the world's most valuable privately held companies.
