NVIDIA Raises Jetson Lineup Prices by Up to 101%, AGX Thor Dev Kit Reaches $5,499.
NVIDIA has quietly executed significant price increases across its Jetson embedded compute portfolio the system-on-module (SoM) platforms and developer kits widely used by industrial manufacturers, hardware startups, and edge AI developers. The adjustments range from a 33% increase up to a staggering 101%, signaling broader cost pressures across specialized AI hardware ecosystems.
Among the developer products, the flagship Jetson AGX Thor Developer Kit saw a sharp 57% price jump, rising from its original launch price of $3,499 to $5,499. Despite its relatively modest GPU core count when compared to enterprise workstation units like the RTX Pro 6000 or full-scale AI systems like DGX Spark, the Thor platform has become an attractive option for local Large Language Model (LLM) execution due to its substantial 128GB unified memory footprint.
The largest relative increase targeted the legacy entry-level segment. The standalone Jetson Nano module (in 1,000-unit bulk trays) experienced a 101% price spike, jumping from $99 per unit to $199. Even with this doubled price tag, it remains the lowest-cost entry point in the Jetson hardware family.
This embedded hardware price adjustment follows a broader pricing shift by NVIDIA, coming just a month after the company increased the MSRP of its flagship RTX Pro 6000 workstation GPU by 55%.
Processing large-scale language models (LLMs) at the Edge AI level doesn't depend solely on GPU processing speed, but also on the amount of VRAM (Unified Memory) available. The Jetson Thor's up to 128GB of VRAM allows developers to run 70B (70 billion parameter) models offline on robots or automated devices without relying on cloud logins. At $5,499, it's still significantly cheaper than buying a server-grade graphics card.
The 101% price increase of the Jetson Nano and RTX Pro 6000 reflects the supply-demand imbalance in the AI industry. The high-speed chips and LPDDR5X/GDDR7 memory used in these devices have seen their manufacturing and raw material costs skyrocket, giving NVIDIA immense pricing power.
Since the Jetson family of chips are the "brains" of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), drones, and industrial cameras, this sudden price increase directly impacts the bill of materials (BOM) costs for hardware companies and smaller developers, forcing them to adjust their budgets.
