Anthropic to Open First Southeast Asian Office in Singapore as Claude Usage Surges.
Anthropic has officially announced plans to establish a new corporate office in Singapore this October, marking its first operational hub in Southeast Asia. The move reinforces the AI research firm’s commercial expansion strategy across high-adoption international markets, positioning Singapore as a strategic node for regional enterprise engagement and AI deployment.
High Adoption Metrics and Strategic Operational Scope
The decision to select Singapore is driven by unprecedented local adoption metrics for Anthropic’s Claude model family:
Global Usage Benchmark: Singapore currently stands as the second-highest market globally for Claude utilization among the 121 countries where Anthropic operates.
Disproportionate Market Penetration: On a per-capita basis and across key internal performance metrics, Singapore’s Claude usage rate exceeds Anthropic’s worldwide average by 5.81 times, highlighting exceptionally dense integration across local developer, academic, and business sectors.
Initial Hiring and Office Focus: The Singapore facility will initially onboard an immediate core team of nine professionals across artificial intelligence research, enterprise sales, corporate finance, and field marketing, with plans to scale client-facing technical support locally.
Expanding APAC Regional Infrastructure: The Singapore office joins Anthropic’s four existing Asia-Pacific regional hubs located in Tokyo (Japan), Bengaluru (India), Seoul (South Korea), and Sydney (Australia).
