By displaying directional prompts over the physical environment, the smart glasses allow commuters to navigate cities without retrieving their smartphones. This navigation feature rolls out across the United States and Canada this month.
WhatsApp Holographic Video Calling: Addressing the inherent hardware limitation of smart glasses where integrated cameras face outward and cannot capture the wearer's face Meta introduced real-time Holographic Calling. Call recipients see a rendered 3D hologram of the wearer during video conversations. The feature will launch natively within WhatsApp in the United States later this year.
Expanded International Retail Availability: Following prior delays, Meta has expanded online sales beyond the U.S. into Canada and the United Kingdom, effective immediately. Commercial retail distribution will expand into France, Italy, and Germany beginning in October.
