Malwarebytes warns that data from 17.5 million Instagram accounts has been leaked.
Malwarebytes, a security software provider, has issued a warning after discovering a database of 17.5 million Instagram user accounts had been leaked on the Dark Web. The leaked data includes sensitive personal information such as usernames, email addresses, phone numbers, and physical addresses. Malwarebytes states that this data is at risk of being used by cybercriminals to impersonate brands or to phishing users to steal passwords. Furthermore, some users have reported receiving password reset notifications from Instagram, likely a consequence of this data breach.
