YouTube and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have announced a multi-year agreement granting YouTube the rights to live-stream the Academy Awards from 2029 to 2033. This includes the red carpet, behind-the-scenes content, and other related material, all viewable globally via YouTube and on YouTube TV for viewers in the United States.
YouTube stated that it will collaborate with the Academy to develop features to make content more accessible to a global audience, such as subtitles and voiceovers.
